Shamans are a nice class with a lot of different spells and abilities. You can play a shaman in several ways. Not to forget, the shaman can also summon a fire and earth elemental from time to time. Then there are several abilities that the shaman can benefit greatly from during leveling and basically in any kind of scenario.

The shamans have an ability called reincarnation which comes with a cool down of one hour. The shaman will be able to resurrect the moment he gets killed if this ability isn’t on cool down. It does not require a reagent called ankh.

The shaman can also learn ghost wolf at level thirty which improves his running speed which is nice for leveling, even though mounts can be used at level 30 now as well. Shamans also have astral recall which basically serves as another hearthstone; this one has only 15 minutes cool down though and doesn’t cost you a spot in your bag.

As you can read above, the shaman truly does have some great abilities. The talent trees will provide you with even more cool spells and abilities. To begin with there is the elemental talent builds which is meant for casting damage dealers.

You will use lighting and fire attacks to maximize damage. A nice AOE spell that becomes available later is thunder storm which does nice damage and knocks back enemies. Then there is enhancement talent build.

The build is created for melee damage dealing shamans. This build will allow the shaman to equip two one- handed weapons and will also give him some great melee attacks. If the enhancement build is followed to the end you will be able to summon tow spirit wolves which are extremely powerful both in PVE and PVP.

Finally there is the restoration build which is focused on healing. Shamans can be great healers with their earth shield; chain heals, healing waves, manna totems, and riptide. The restoration talent does not only give new abilities but also give great boosts to already existing abilities.

A shaman is an easy and fun to level with all these abilities. Another nice thing a rogue in example does not have is that you can switch between melee damage, being a caster and a healer whenever you like.

Professionguide-shaman

Shamans are one of the few hybrid classes in world of war craft. For shamans this means that they should either spec to be healers- restoration tree, casters- elemental tree or melee- enhancement tree. No matter which spec you choose, one could surely say shamans are loads of fun to level up and play.

Leatherworkingand skinning

Easy to level and quite useful, these two professions could actually be the first choice of a shaman. Why? Simply because shamans are mail wearers and with leather working leveled up they can make nice pieces of gear for themselves no matter what spec they are.

If they would like to make it more profitable, shaman leather workers could also craft mail pieces for gear for hunters or leather pieces of gear that will suit rogues and druids. Another nice thing which comes together with skinning is a buff called mastery of anatomy which will increase your critical strike rating by 32.

Jewelcrafting and mining

Jewel crafting could be one of your choices if you are playing a shaman on the alliance side since the only race that could play a shaman are the draenei and this race by default has +10 on jewel crafting. In any case jewel crafting is a nice profession to have and is best paired with mining.

With this profession you will have benefits of the stone statues that will heal you up when in trouble while leveling and even after, nice rings and necklaces and what are the most important gems that you could put in the sockets of your gear.

Prospecting is one of the skills that you will get together with the jewel crafting profession. Prospecting will allow you to get extract valuable gems from ores that you will gather while mining. These tow professions are not only useful for yourself, since you can also craft unique-equipped and soul bound gems, but also because they are very profitable. Mining is also very nice because it gives a buff called toughness which will increase your stamina by 50.

Other

Enchanting is always nice to have since every character, no matter which class or spec will need his/her gear to be enchanted. In some rare cases elemental and restoration shamans pair this profession with tailoring, since they can make good casting pr- raiding gear with it and because they are able to wear cloth.

Since they are casters/healers they usually stay behind and get no damage so the armor bonus of mail gear pieces doesn’t matter much to them. Nevertheless it is always advisable to wear the highest gear you can and there is definitely nice mail gear that could be also crafted with leatherworking for these two specs.

Alchemy and herbalism are two professions that can always come in handy for every class, not to mention that they are quite easy to be leveled, plus a bonus buff called life blood which will heal you for 2000 over 5 seconds.

Inscription together with herbalism could be also nice for a shaman since the glyphs he/she could make are very useful and there are a lot of different glyphs differing on the spec you have the totems and spells you are using. Engineering and mining could also be fun since you will be able to craft some armor pieces for yourself and other useful shamans wow leveling tips gadgets.
