Let me reveal it to you that pain in joints I drink plain yogurt just about every day and though it is an acquired taste, I really enjoy it. Personally this is my version of salty lassie, an Indian drink. Trust me; it’s incredibly refreshing in the summer and a great way to get calcium all the year round.

Now I am going to teach you how to prepare lassie, and you can very well try it at home, it’s really easy. For the starter, take 18 ounce cup of plain yogurt, I personally prefer one with a sour, tangy taste. Then add 8 ounces of cold water and preferably you want more or less.


Then add one pinch salt, you can also add pinch spices, toasted cumin and mint which is basically an herb and are traditional. I like garam masala, which is an Indian spice blend and you can very well be adventurous with your favorite lassie.

Then in a mixing bowl or blender, blend all the ingredients until it becomes frothy. Now you are done and you can very well enjoy your favorite lassie. If you like the idea but not the taste, then you can very well substitute plain yogurt with a creamy, mild flavor and some fruit.

This is what you call a sweet lassie and mango is the traditional Indian fruit. Now what if you are vegan or even just want to limit your intake of animal based foods? Earlier, I have mentioned chi seeds which are really a super food.

But they aren’t just packed with omega-3, calcium, protein and fiber. If you add water they quickly become creamy and luscious. Do you love custard? I am sure you don’t want to mess around cooking it? The chi seed comes to your rescue in this indulgent berry and chi seed pudding that serves 2 persons.

Now let’s talk about the ingredients, it includes 1 cup unsweetened vegan milk, I really like coconut. ¾ of your choice berries, 3 table spoons chi seeds,2 table spoons of your choice of natural sweetener which includes white or brown sugar, honey maple syrup or Stevie to taste.

Along with that you need 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg along with dash salt. Now stir all the ingredients except berries together in a small bowl. Then gently fold in ½ cup berries.

Divide into serving bowls or glasses, and then top with remaining berries. If you want you can refrigerate for 2 hours. Now I can say that good food can reduce your joint pain but it can’t treat the cause. If you are like me and most of us who aren’t as young or as active as we use to be.

We either suffer from joint pain or hope to be one of the very few people who avoid joint pain. I am sure you probably have friends and loved ones who feel the same way since they are suffering themselves. Unfortunately they have been taught that joint pain is fundamental part of aging.
