Coronavirus And Betting
Coronavirus is impacting lives, businesses
and countries across the globe and both the betting industry and Betting Gods
are no exception to this. This post has been published to inform you of how
coronavirus is impacting Betting Gods and how we plan to deal with it going
forward. We will make regular updates to this post so you’re always in the
loop.

17th March
We have been
advised by the British Horseracing Authority that effective 18th March all
British horseracing will cease until at least 1st May.
Nick Rust, the
Chief Executive of the BHA, said:
“This is a national emergency the like of
which most of us have never seen before… our first duty is to the health of the
public, our customers and to racing industry participants and staff so we have
decided to suspend racing following the government’s latest advice”
“There will be
difficult months ahead for many of us. We need to focus now on ensuring that we
can continue to look after our horses as the virus affects the thousands of
participants and staff who dedicate their lives to caring for animals. We need
to do what we can to support businesses inside and outside racing and the many
people whose livelihoods depend upon this £4 billion industry.
“We are in
constant contact with government which understands the very significant
consequences of this decision for jobs and businesses. We will work with them
to do our best to manage the impact.
“Racing leaders
will keep today’s decision under constant review and endeavour to keep all
customers, participants, staff and dependent businesses informed as the situation
progresses.”
15th March
The British
Horseracing Authority has announced that Horse Racing in Britain will be taking
place without public attendance. Fixtures will continue to be broadcast on TV
as scheduled. Click here for full details from the BHA.
Paid Services
If you are a
member of a paid service then your tipster will do their best to continue
running the service without disruption. Of course, with more sports cancelling
fixtures there is an increased chance that tipsters will have long periods of
no tips.
We appreciate
you’re paying to receive tips so if a tipster looks unlikely to have tips for a
lengthy period of time then we will be extending your subscription through the
period of no tips.
eg. if your tipster only covers British horseracing we will ensure that you are credited for the period of time when there is no British horseracing scheduled.
eg. if your tipster only covers British horseracing we will ensure that you are credited for the period of time when there is no British horseracing scheduled.
We believe this
is the fairest way to deal with any paid subscriptions to Betting Gods
tipsters. We will inform you of any extensions on a case-by-case basis.
Free Newsletter
We will do all we
can to continue providing our free tips through the Betting Gods newsletter but
if UK racing gets postponed and the quantity of football fixtures continues to
decrease then we will pause the newsletter for a hopefully brief period.
The PremierLeague have now
announced that all fixtures are to be postponed until at least 4th April,
European football is postponed and we suspect more fixtures are likely to be
cancelled which will make it harder to provide tips for the free newsletter.
For the time
being, UK horse racing is still going forward and Irish racing is continuing
without spectators.
We will shortly
be publishing a post dedicated to letting you know what sport is and is not
taking place.
The Blog
Publishing of free
tips on the blog is likely to slow down during the Covid-19 pandemic as more
and more sports events are postponed or cancelled. We will do all we can to
continue providing free tips, however.
The blog will
also be used to keep you informed of the latest, breaking news in the betting
world in relation to coronavirus so keep an eye on it.
Final Thoughts
As obvious as it
is, please do all you can to maintain the highest standard of hygiene. Avoid
contact with your mouth and eyes and regularly wash your hands. But most of
all, avoid panicking.
We, at Betting
Gods, can only wish you and your family good health and wellbeing.
