paleo diet for vegetarian- what are the high protein and kid friendly paleo snack recipes?
I don’t know about
you, but as a Paleo person I struggle with finding paleo diet for vegetarian protein snacks I like. Year I know about protein
bars, and I know I am supposed to like them, but I hate them. They are too
mealy for my taste.
Beef jerky isn’t my
cup of tea, either. Trail mix gets old fast. And hard boiled eggs? Let’s just say
I have had my fill, and then someone sends me these incredible paleo snack
recipes. Recipe after recipe, everything I tried, tasted really great.
Now I finally had
what I wanted, something I could rely on in between meals. Something healthy.
Something paleo and nutritious. And something that tasted really good. The best
part is that these paleo friendly snacks can all be whipped up within 10 short
minute or less.
In the process, my
health got even better because I wasn’t compromising in between meals. Whoever
said it is right, you DO want to be eating, to be snacking throughout the day.
It does keep your energy up.
Today, I just
ignore the protein bar aisle, no matter how trendy. These homemade snacks and
treats are way better. I will talk soon; of course, these recipes are pure
paleo- which means they are free from dairy, soy, grains and gluten, added
sugars and processed ingredients.
I am sure you would
say Mom there are really good. Don’t
you just love to hear those words? Yet so often we hear the opposite from kids. Ewe,
yuck, I don’t like those and everyone’s favorite I am not eating those ever
again.
Kids can be so
finicky. Nutritious yet still yummy snacks can be darn difficult to prepare.
Especially for kids. And that goes double, especially for super busy parents.
The response from your kids will be MOM, when are you going to make those
again?
Your favorite? Mom,
can you teach me how to make those sometime, that one will make your heart
melt. Of course these recipes are pure paleo- which means they are free from dairy,
soy, grains and gluten, added sugars and processed ingredients.
You will love the
fact you are giving your kids snacks that are truly nutritious. Snacks those
are way more than just slick marketing and pretty packaging. My secret hope is
as they grow up, they will actually prefer these snacks, and much the same way
I was brought up addicted to snicker bars.
The jury is still
out, obviously. But I know I am on the right tacks when they are starting making
requests to me to whip a batch up. You will, too. You just got to try them. I
guarantee, you will like them too.
In today’s world, it’s
hard to have a sluggish liver. A sluggish liver makes us feel tired,
emotionally erratic, and short on patience, unable to focus for long periods.
We might have physical pain, digestive issues and become prone to allergies.
Not to mention stubborn weight gain.
Does this sound
familiar? Between all the toxins in our food and water and garbage in our environment,
your liver is just plain tuckered out. The unusual yet incredible solution?
Bone broth. Yes, bone broth helps detox the liver.
You might ask how?
It supplies much needed glycogen. If there is not enough glycogen present, the
liver cannot adequately perform its detox function, making the liver sluggish.
Just a cup of grass fed beef bone broth per day ensures we have enough glycogen
in our systems for the liver to perform its daily detox.
This means we can
be easily rid of metabolic wastes that burden our system and eventually create
disease. You know that we LOVE bone broth around these parts. And you also
probably know that it is an amazing superfood. It not only detoxes the liver, it’s
been shown to-
· Reduce inflammation
· Improve your digestion, adrenals, bones and teeth.
· Promote healthy joints, tendons and ligaments
· Improve the function of your immune system
· Reduce wrinkles, banish cellulite and improve the
quality of your skin.
Bone broth is filled
with an abundance of healthy minerals, amino acids, protein, collagen and
gelatin- all combining to give you immense nutritional benefits. Now, one of
the challenges with bone broth is that it doesn’t always exactly taste great
when you make it.
Now I am going to
tell you about some tantalizing bone broth recipes which is absolutely loaded
with nutrients. They are-
· Fire chili bone broth
· Ham and chili broth stir fry
· Ocean stew
· Ultimate veggie soup
· Anti- inflammatory broth
I can assure you that a daily liver detox can really be delicious. I just don’t understand it. At my local upscale grocery store, there is this whole wall dedicated to protein bars. These pseudo candy bars in pretty packaging are priced anywhere from $3 to $5 a piece.
That’s a lot. Some have popular names, some are endorsed by celebrities, and others are pretty obscure. Either way. I submit NONE of them taste any good. And I know I am not alone. Determined to find my bar, I would buy one or two different bars every time I went shopping.
Unwrapping, I would always look forward to a tasty yet nutritious snack. But after the first bite, I know. I would never be buying THAT bar again. Even those I thought were going to be good, like those that were raspberry or blueberry, were pretty awful.
Every time they would say things on the wrapper like chewy, it was really code for mealy. If it was really bad, wouldn’t even finish it. 3 bucks right into the garbage. I was however, underrated. At night, I would scour the internet for tasty and satisfying paleo snacks ideas.
I proved a pretty frustrating waste of time. Everybody has snacks and treats. Just not good ones. Not the ones you can look forward to eating or when you are about to sit down and watch a good move. Now finally I have what I wanted.
Something I can rely on in between meals. Something healthy. Something paleo and nutritious. And something that tasted really good. In the process, my health got even better because I wasn’t compromising in between meals.
Whoever said it is right, paleo diet for vegetarian you DO want to be eating, to be snacking throughout the day. Just not empty calorie foods that will bring your energy down. Today I just ignore the protein bar aisle, no matter how trendy. These homemade snacks and treats are way better. I will talk about that soon and for that visit here.
